Established in 2012, the LBG consists of a fluctuating number of Senior Scientists, Postdocs, PhD- and Master students working on research projects at the interface between isotope geochemistry, mineralogy and biology. Currently, the LGB is engaged in research themes such as:
- Biogenic carbonate paleo-proxy reliability
- Metabolic processes in symbiotic marine organisms (and how these processes are affected by global climate change)
- Plant photosynthesis and starch formation
- Brain metabolism
The LGB is equipped with a NanoSIMS N50L instrument.
